Monday 23th October 2006

Rain and a force 6 southerly wind did make good conditions for fishing but at least being on the pleasure pier meant that we could have some shelter from the elements, but it was the juniors fishing into the wind that started catching the fish with under 12s Owen King soon off the mark, he caught six in a short time before the wind got to strong for him.

The under 12s section was won by Owen with his 6 fish giving him 6 fish points, second place went to Steven Buik with 4 fish points, in third place we had Nathan Ward with 2 fish points and fourth place was shared by Tommy Butterworth and Jamie Neilson with 1 fish point each.

With the holiday season now upon us the numbers were down but we still had over twenty junior fishing the Monday night league, and once again the mackerel and gar were missing with only one mackerel being caught and that was by Andy Shorter, so it was left to the juniors fishing the sides of the pier to take advantage and make their scores count.
